Latinx in Gaming is an Award-Winning Non-Profit Organization connecting Latines across the gaming industry. Their mission is to connect Latines across the gaming industry to promote cultural appreciation and representation in games and content, providing a platform for Latinx community members to elevate each other and themselves.
Sofia was contracted to organize and host mentorship workshops for the LXIG community at PAX West 2024. These 'cafecitos' provided individuals who are new to or interested in transitioning to the gaming industry a chance to speak with an experienced industry veteran.
videogames & esports foundation
The VEF strives to create an inclusive, safe, and aspirational network of gaming communities for all. We provide grants/financial assistance to disenfranchised students and schools and scholarships to students through gaming and esports clubs in schools.
Sofia has been volunteering as a Grants Writer to support the foundation.
csusm esports club
California State University Esports is a student-led club with branches in League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, Smash Bro's Ultimate, CS:GO, Call of Duty: MW2, Overwatch 2, Tekken, and Guilty Gear. As of now, they compete in various leagues such as the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), College Valorant (CVAL), and other tournaments that occur during the semester.
Sofia volunteers as a Social Media Lead and is currently working on grant writing and partnership development for the organization.
